Calligrapher

This pen that I hold in my hand
Has been grandly crafted.
Glass or plastic? It matters not.
The twisted scheme of mint green and blue
Is clearly seen through the crystal casing.
The fine curves are a delicate art form,
And the small knob before the pen's tip
Is spherical comfort.

Indigo ink-drops clamber to claim
A space on the pen's point.
Put to paper, this pen can only
Place a few spidery lines
On the surface before drying.

But back in its black velvet-lined box,
The quill reclaims its regal grace.
