Author's note: This is another song from my story "Dragondust". This one will be sung in a tavern by a travelling minstrel in chapter 7. I'd like to know if you feel that it would fit such a setting.

Once more, FPcom messes up my format...

Laranna's Rose

A bard without a flute, a minstrel with no lyre,

Another hapless poet of undistinguished prose,

I lack the proper words to sing your grace and fire,

Millenna of Dalakour, Laranna's priceless rose.

- - -

Atop the southern hills, Millenna's gilded cage,

The silver walls of Aran, where poison ivy grows,

She sleeps in scented sheets of lavender and sage

Millenna of Dalakour, Laranna's priceless rose.

- - -

A fighter's greatest prize,a minstrel's only muse,

Her voice inspires the bards sad ballads to compose.

For her I've left my home, my name I will refuse,

Millenna, lady fair, Laranna's priceless rose.

- - -

Eyes of jade, skin of gold, I wonder, will you weep?

And will you feel my parting kiss in the breeze that blows?

Is my death naught but a dream in your scented sleep,

Millenna of Dalakour, Laranna's priceless rose?
