Near by ParkAs the little children played in a Friday afternoon in a near by park I watched them lay. I watched them play everyday, I saw them as they chased each other; my eyes fell upon a sudden boy that fell and scraped his knee and small palms. Crying in pain for his knees and hands, yet not knowing that later in his life he’ll be crying over his broken heart. When the little boy grown and has aged my age; I wondered if he’ll ever give up. Life is so hard and yet so hard to let go. As I watched further I see that the little boy wiped small tears of his innocent eyes. I see that that little boy gave a wide grin and started playing again. Could you be able to stand up like that again once you have experience what I have? Will you have the strength? I watched more closely, I saw there larger kids disturbing a small and fragile one. I saw that the boy with the scraped knees and palms helped the smaller frame. Standing to whatever he believes was right. Could you be able to fight like that once you’ve been slaughter and every piece of courage has been taken by the sound of gunshots, bombs, and the smell of metallic blood mixed with gunpowder. The sight of the guy right next to you being shot or the body of your best friend positioned in your arms. The bigger kids beat him up and left with their arrogance and satisfaction. The little boy with the crapped knees and palms, with the swollen face and the spirit of a wolf turned to see the fragile life he had just saved. He smiled widely and the fragile child smiles gently wiping tears from his eyes. Now that you have saved someone, who will save you? The victorious boy invited the one with the fragile soul to play with the other boys and girls. I closed the blinds of the window, ‘live hard and proud, with not regrets’ I whispered softly to the winds, I only hoped they would be carried of and reach the courageous boy. I sat on the sofa in the living room across form my sofa and took a zip form my tea cup and waited patiently with my family for my grandson to come back home and tell us of his adventure of a Friday afternoon in a near by park.
