Hey! Okay, this is a new story, I know it says in my profile that I would wait until all my current stories were finished, but I couldn’t help it… so here is a totally new story for you guys, and it has nothing to do with vampires. I’m trying to steer away from them for a little while…. So here’s chapter 1 of “Love Conquers All”, Enjoy:

“But-” I began to protest at what my father had just told me.

“No buts Danielle.” My father interrupted me. “You are to marry Prince Sebastian of Lesté when you reach the appropriate age of eighteen.” his beady black eyes told me that there was no way that I could change his mind.

I gaped up at him; he could not be serious! Prince Sebastian was possible the biggest pervert I had ever met. All he thought about was sex and girls. I shuddered. He was such a nasty boy, and I wondered on numerous occasions if he was perfectly all right in the head. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had been dropped too many times on his head as a baby and it gave him permanent brain damage, sure would explain a lot…

“That is all, Danielle, please return to your room. I have work to do.” That was what he always said to me. My father had never treated me like I was truly his own. Though, my mother didn't believe my theory: my father didn't love me because as an only child and not a boy, I couldn't carry on the family name.

“Yes, Father.” I mumbled softly before I as calmly as I possibly could, left the room. The minute I was in the hall. I stomped away, letting my fury of what he had just told me be revealed to any servant who walked down the corridor.

I was fuming mad by the time I reached my quarters, and pushed the door to my room open a little harder than I had meant to for it slammed against the wall, before slamming shut behind me.

A woman came running from my bedroom, yelling in her own language. “Oh, God Danielle. It’s only you.” she looked relieved, as she held her hand to her chest, seeming to try to catch her breath.

“Of course it is, Mary.” I smiled at my personal maid, but I considered her more of a best friend than anything else. “Who’d you expect it to be?”

“From all the racket that door caused, I thought it was your father, in one of his moods.” Mary began breathing normally again as she watched me closely. “So, why exactly did you slam the door, and almost give dear old me a heart attack?” she asked.

“First of all Mary, you’re not old.” noticing her look, I added, “You’re only 20, that’s young in my book. Second, to answer your question, I just had a little meeting with father.”

“Oh?” she perked up slightly, “about what?”

“To whom I will be married when I turn the legal age of eighteen.” I explained, sitting down on the sofa. I was thankful that I had my own quarters with a sitting room, bathroom and all. All it needed was a kitchen I would have no reason to never leave.

“And who is that?” she questioned further.

I gave her a look, “Who do you think, Mary dear? Who is the one boy in the entire world, every single girl wants until they’ve met him and then decide that they don’t want him anymore?”

“No!” she gasped. “Prince Sebastian?”

“Of course.” I said smugly. “Father of course sees through that façade that he wears…disgusting perverted little…” I muttered darkly to myself. “There had to be some way of getting out of this. There just had to be, there was no way that I was going to marry that pathetic excuse for a man.” I didn’t know had voiced my thoughts until Mary said softly, “There is something, Danielle.”

“What?” I looked at her expectantly. She gave me a knowing look. “Oh, no, oh no no no! I can not possible do that!”

“Why not?” Mary questioned.

“Because, one where would I go and two do you know what could happen to me if I were caught?”

“Who cares?” Mary said, “Go stay with Oliver for a little while until everything calms down. He will only look for you for a little while before he decides that you really are gone and there is no way to get you back.”

I looked at her. “But what about you, you know you’ll be punished for letting me get away!”

Mary smiled warmly at me, “Me? Dani, all you ever think about is other people, I think for once in your life you should do something for you, no one else. Besides, I’ll be fine. I know how to take care of myself.”

That I knew was true for if it weren’t for her, I probably would have been taken prisoner by the Kingdom Kudés when they attack the castle a couple of months ago and killed my mother… and attempted to take me. And if it weren’t for Mary, I probably have been taken that night.

“Yea, alright.” I muttered.

“You’ll leave then?”

“Yes, I suppose I will.” I gave up reluctantly. “But it is only because I would rather do that than marry that pig Sebastian.” I shuddered, remembering what had almost happened the last time we had met. No!My mind scolded me don’t remember, it’s over done with no need to add insult to injury by giving Sebastian the satisfaction of knowing I can still clearly see what he did to me! Or what he almost did to me I shook the thoughts out of my head as Mary began hastily to move around the room, packing things for me.

“Don’t bother, Mary.” I said, “I can borrow some clothes from Oliver’s sister, Brianna. The less I have the easier it will be to travel.” she nodded in agreement,

“Alright then. I’m just happy that you are finally going to do this. You should have done this along time ago, Dani.”

I sighed, “I know.” I knew that she had wanted me to run away for weeks, possible months, ever since my mother was killed. My mother had always loved me and she was the only reason that I hadn’t run away sooner. Run away from a life that I had never wanted to live in the first place.

I hugged Mary quickly, “If something bad happens, it’s your fault.”

“Nothing is going to happen, Dani. Everything, will be fine. I promise.” she smiled at me. “Ill miss you, say hello to Oliver for me.”

“Will do.” I muttered as I stepped out onto my balcony, I was thankful for the ivy that grew on one side of the balcony. I grasped it firmly in my left hand before I swiftly swung one then two feet over the stone wall of the balcony. And with one last wave at Mary, who was standing in the doorway I descended to the ground. And raced into the dark night. Having no idea, what I was getting myself into.

How was it? I’m sorta just playing with the idea at this point… if you liked it, please let me know and I’ll continue… You’ll learn more about Danielle’s past in a little while… well, please review!
