The pain in me screams for a release
But I acknowledge it not, hoping it will quell-
I know it will not, for it has been screaming for some time
And the noise, the relentless cries, takes over my mind
The screams echo in the hollow cavern that is myself
And I know not what to do now that it’s close to being free
I start silently screaming, my face completely composed
I am in pain, though none are the wiser
I invisibly double over, my posture perfect
They are there and I can hear them squeal I push them away
Being apathetic isn’t as easy as it seems
The screams are always there; fighting, wanting-
Wishing for the release I have foolishly forbidden them
