He knows no friend,
the broken heart,
like open water,
in midnight dark.
From ocean to sea,
lonely he wanders,
but for what,
he only ponders.
On his own,
the silence burns,
his soul cries,
his stomach churns.
Time passes by,
as his wound bleeds,
so consumed by sorrow,
is he.
He swims so far,
he can no longer see,
all of the things,
that he can be.
Because she is,
his only one,
and without her,
he feels he is done.
Broken and twisted,
his soul cries,
for she, his one,
has gone.
He falls beneath,
and loses his sight,
but what is truly lost,
is this, the fight.
All is lost,
for now, this night,
this broken heart,
has lost its light.
It consumes him,
but he cannot frown,
for this he pleaded,
he chose to drown.
