Words. Words are the bane and the foundation of everything the world has ever known.
Words can break a heart, destroy a soul, or words can make a person laugh, make a person cry. Words can brighten a day, and they can make or break friendships, relationships, families.
A single word can save a life, and the same can be said for taking one.
Words are the small part of our day that we take for granted, but can hurt more than slings, arrows, even death.
Words can last for years, staying with a person till they die, or they can fade within minutes, lost again to the universe of lost comments.
A heart can break, but it can mend, a soul can shatter forever.

I'm not saying that we as a people should stop speaking, we would simply find another way of communicating, one that could be more physical, and possibly more violent.
The words that I am saying to you could have no impact at all, or you could be one of those people who has felt the sharp sting of a carelessly thrown word. You could know that what I have said is true, and you could understand that words do have an effect.

All I have stated is my opinion. All I have are my words. This is my life, but we should all be more careful of the words we give away.

Remember, sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can shatter a heart.
