Dancing with Dreams

Trapped under this snow

Where there's no room to live

And no life to dream of

I try to think of my memories,

But they've all gone away.

"Do you remember Spring?" the little girl asked.

"With the gentle showers, and all the flowers?

And dancing with our dreams in the street?"

I told her, "How could I forget?"

But I have forgotten.

I have forgotten.

I live in a constant winter,

Wrapped in ice and hidden from the sun.

I let my dreams drift away with the fall.

They didn't come back.

And neither did the sun.

"Do you remember Summer?" the teenage girl asked.

"With the bright sun and the silver moon?

And dancing with our dreams on the wind?"

I told her, "How could I forget?"

But I have forgotten.

I have forgotten.

They dance so freely in the air,

And they're weaving such marvelous dreams.

But the warmth and love escaped me,

And there's no room to dance

In this cage I locked myself in.

Too bad I lost the key.

"Do you remember Fall?" the young woman asked.

"With the cold winds and all the laughter in the air?

And dancing with our dreams in the leaves?"

I told her, "How could I forget?"

But I have forgotten.

I have forgotten.

Don't follow me in,

For I'm afraid you'll lose your way,

And become dead like me.

This place where no one knows the pain I feel

Doesn't want you here.

So please keep on dreaming to stay away.

"Do you remember Winter?" the old woman asked.

"With the perfect snowflakes and the quiet nights?

And dancing with our dreams in our sleep?"

I told her, "I have forgotten."

But I remembered.

I remembered.
