The rain falls down in wicked sheets
To soak the bone and chill the soul.
To quell the fires of my pain
I stand outside in the pouring rain.

You’re gone, vanished without a trace,
The past too hurtful to remember.
I have nothing left that can be taken.
I’m all alone, standing here, Godforsaken.

These eyes so blue, these tears they cry
Fall among the droplets on the ground.
This waterfall a thousand times releasing
A scarring pain, always unceasing.

Black and blue, I’ve tumbled down.
And from here I can sink no lower.
The ache in my heart will never leave.
It’s all so unreal, I can hardly believe.

But you will never hear my words,
Because your ears are buried beneath my feet.
In solemn slumber do you rest.
I clutch your letters to my chest.

In taking your life, they took mine too.
I’m broken, laying here on the floor.
Laughing and crying, it’s all the same
As I stand outside in the pouring rain.
