The Basement

He was down in the basement. Scott carefully picked up each Lego, placing one on top of the other to build a miniature tower. All was calm, all was peaceful. Scott never expected anything to happen, but something did. The wall opened. At first it was just a little crack, but it got bigger. So big that he was able to walk inside.

Inside, 10-year-old Scott’s dark hair could not be seen in the darkness. He warily stepped through the cave, expecting that at any time lurking creature could jump out from a dark hole of its own. He came to a fork in the cave’s path, three directions that he could choose from. After careful consideration he choose the path to the left, which led to a door locked by a silver key. His heart beat fast, wondering where this new path would lead. Slowly he turned the door handle, and peaked inside.

What of all places would one find than the Moon? Before he knew it, the door was closed behind him, and key in his pocket, he was standing on the edge of a huge creator. Scott looked around, enjoying the peacefulness. Out of nowhere came a huge purple dinosaur! It was a sight that could scare anyone between the age of 5 and 20. It began to sing and walk towards Scott, who backed away. In fact he backed so far up that he fell into a crack in the Moon. He fell and fell for miles upon miles before waking up in his bed.

Could it have all been a dream? Scott jumped out of bed and ran down a short flight of stairs to the basement. There sat his Legos, as he had left them the day before, and in the wall there was a single hairline crack.
