SPINNING

Spinning, spinning, spinning

Spinning so fast you think you’ll never, ever stop

Spinning through it, you laugh, you cry, you live

It’s one thing after another, good and bad, in this wheel we call life.

Then suddenly it’s all behind you

It’s gone in an instant

It’s all in the past

It’s all yesterday’s misery, yesterday’s joy, yesterday’s life.

You took it all for granted

You took it like it was forever

You took it like there was never going to be an end

Nobody warned you, nobody prepared you, nobody said anything, at all.

It was a slap in the face; when it all came tumbling down

Suddenly it’s all over.

Subconsciously you knew, but you thought it would never come in time…

Never came in time to make you think, make you realize, make you wake up

So now as you’re slowing down, you’re starting to look closely

Looking closely at all the details

All the memories

Everything that made you live for the next day

Everything you built from the beginning

The tower is built, the tower will stand, and now it will fall.

Now it will crumble.

Piece by piece it will shatter to the ground

Each brick falling with a smash

And you think!

You awaken!

You not only remember, you appreciate!

Although every brick was not easy to mold, it made the tower stand with all its elegance.

Everything you worked so hard to build has finally last all it can last

As the last brick falls you stop spinning.

You stop spinning enough to realize it’s over.

You’ll never have what was.
