Dancing heat,
Consuming with might,
I’ve fallen in love
With fire of the night.

That beautiful flame,
Which starts out so small,
And then grows to be blazing,
And soon consumes all.

It burns all it sees,
All evil and good,
And sometimes I wish
That I were just wood.

Oh, to be burned,
With that loving grace,
Oh to feel that fierce heat,
Burning my face.

I’d love to be in it,
To feed it with love,
I’d like to be part
Of that smoke up above.

I want to be fire,
Such beauty and might,
I want to burn everything
And illuminate night.

I wish I could feel it,
And become so refreshed,
But I can not touch it
For I'm bound with flesh.
