Lord, give me strength to tread this rocky road.

Comfort is all but gone, left in the yesterday.

I want to let o and fall away forever,

But because of you I fight to go forward.

Lord, I ask only one thing of you,

Keep my feet on the trail.

Even though the fires scorch,

I know that your grace awaits.

People changed and hearts are broken,

Broken because they feel so helpless.

But they survived yesterday and today,

Giving tomorrow a goods start.

But Lord, you know my heart,

And you know I’m still crying.

Wounds deep down, throbbing with pain.

But your great, pure love will take it away.

So when tomorrow’s sun peeks from the clouds,

I’ll start the journey once again.

For what more can we learn,

If we remain stuck in the past?

I wish we could turn back to those days,

Days filled with delight and laughter.

Oh God, where would we be,

If we never had those days?

Though they seem so far away,

They’re burned in my memory.
