She couldn’t get a hold of her, the screaming wouldn’t stop, and the tears kept threatening to break free. Too many nights trapped inside a defenseless head lacking the proper weapons to fight back, and she’s giving up; it’s been to long. So she promised, yes, and the rational part of her is still pleading with the destructive one to keep her away from the promised silence. She knows it won’t last long, that the screaming will come back, that the thoughts will keep going and she’ll go through this again and again…(Does she really want to drive herself back over the cliff of addiction?) But the silence outside herself is deafening and her tears are so close to exploding out like a dam’s flood gates. Too bad….She was so close.
