Look guys, girls do things all the time that you just don't seem to get. There are a select few of you who actually catch on, and congratulations to you all! You have much knowledge. But for those of you who just don’t understand (trust me, it’s hard for us to even understand ourselves sometimes. No biggie if you don’t understand our foreign language) here are some translations of things that girls do translated into a language that guys can understand.

When a girl likes you, there are many things we do to let you guys know that we have a crush. One of the things is always giving you a hard time about other girls that like you. The motives behind this are simple: we want to see if you like any other girls, so if you like the girl who’s talking to you about other possible girls, don’t go along with her. Let her know that you don’t like them. If you try to make her jealous, that only leads to the girl feeling like crap and we get nasty once that happens.

Another thing we do is get our friends to tell you that we like you. Now when a girl’s friend comes up to you and tells you that her friend likes you, be careful what your next words are, because the girl will know everything that you tell her friend: girls tell each other everything! So, once again, if you do like the girl in question, then tell her friend that you do. Trust me, it’s worth it.

This is a thing that happens to guys who have a friend who is a girl when she has a crush on him. If the friendis a friend whousually waits for you at your locker or class and then talks to you constantly begins to leave you or ignore you when you’re with other people, then she has a crush on you. This can sometimes lead to the guy thinking that she doesn’t want to be his friend anymore, but the girl just doesn’t know any other way to let him know that she likes him, so she ignores him and pretends he isn’t there so she can see if he would make an effort to include you in his life. Simple, right?

Confused yet? You are? Good. Well, this is quite a lot of new information, so take a breather, get a glass of water, and read on. Only a bit more, I promise.

Now here’s a tip for when you go to dances: If a girl spends the whole dance sitting on the bleachers or staring off into the distance, and you’re there dancing with your friends, she’s waiting for you to come over and ask her to dance with you, especially if the above is done during a slow song. Hell, this seems to be the most difficult thing for you all to grasp. If there’s a slow song going on, and she just sits there looking miserable, ask her to dance for goodnesssake! Its really not that difficult. Also, if you dance a slow song with another girl, and she just sits there looking everywhere but at you, then you know that she’s feeling hurt. She would even enjoy it if you just came and sat with her and talked about some completely random topic. And if she laughs at every stupid thing you say during this conversation, you’ve got her hooked, unless you have a very squeaky voice and it makes everything you say hilarious, but that usually isn’t the case here.

And just one last piece of advice before I end the subject of crushes: If you don’t like a girl who likes you, don’t lead her on. Don’t just flirt with her for the hell of it and don’t go out with her just because you can. Flirt with her because you like her and want to give you two a chance. Go out with her because you want to make a commitment to her and spend your time with someone you care about.
