"Thoughts of the Progressing Mind"

"Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself. But talent recognizes genius"
-Sherlock Holmes

Eat, weep, and sleep to feelings and impulse
The dusk burns bright so I cover my eyes,
I am just a walking mass of instinct and emotion after all
But on this plain I rise supreme,
Behold the tower of silver ivory that I have built
So it may thunder and break through the realm of angels,
Impossible you say?
Well so are my ambitions,
A grandeur effect
To a cause of picturesque intuition,
So that pigs may fly
And the dirt may speak,
Dangerous is the progressing mind.
