He had always wanted it to be special. Not just some random event that would happen to pass by because it needed to, but something so out of the ordinary that it would easily knock him off his feet long before he could plead for his sanity.

He had never really expected anything like this to happen, though.

Because of it, he lost his friends. His so-called companions whom he thought would be first to back him up on this all shied away from him, like he had suddenly gotten the plague.

His mother kept quiet through it all. Staying safely snuggled in some discreet corner, watching through glassy eyes as his father drew livid artworks upon his skin. His brother grimaced at him as though he had grown shit on his head. His sister told him she never wanted to have anything to do with him, ever again.

In a single night, he lost his family. The people whom he had shared so many wonderful years with turned their backs on him like he had been nothing but a passing dream. A nightmare they were more than happy to rid themselves of.

And come the next morning, he found himself without a home.

His school found out soon enough, and wasted no time in getting rid of him as well.

He lost his varsity scholarship. He lost his part-time job. He lost his chance at a promising future.

He lost his chance at life.

All because he had to be human and fall in-love.

Yes, he had always wanted it to be special.

But what did happen more than knocked him off his feet.

Because of all people, he had to fall in love with a man.

Heaven suddenly ceased existing.

And his world began to crumble.
