"He's been gone forever." Faith said rolling off the bed and walking to the door. She reached out and grabbed the handle and pulled back. As she stepped over the threshold she heard it.

"Shut up. Just SHUT UP!"

She looked sideways. Jared wasn't there she hurried as quietly as she could down the side of the wall and peeked around the corner. "Oh my God!" She gasped and pulled back. Her hand flew to her mouth. "Oh God." She looked back just to make sure. The sight hadn't changed. There stood Jared, Griffin pointing a gun at his face, a hot anger burning deep in his eyes.

Faith ran her hands over her hair.

"Where is she?"

"Why? No! I won't let you hurt her!"

"You should be more worried about yourself, where is she?!"

"NO!"

"DO SOMETHING!" The voice screeched. She pulled herself up and quickly as possible began to move. What she was going to do, she had no idea, and her body just seemed to be doing this on its own. She ran down the walkway and jumped. She ran into the gun, pushing it to the left just as it shot.

Jared flinched as dust fell over top of him. Faith stood staring and breathing deeply. Griffin watched her, his eyes traveling wildly over her face. "Griffin." She shouted, "THIS ISN"T YOU!" She felt the hot tears in her eyes but pushed them back. She glared fiercely. Griffin's eyes widened waiting for what was to happen next.

For a few long moments they just stared. The Faith, like a flash, ran and grabbed Jared's hand. She'd never ran as fast as she did then. They sprinted down around the hotel, shots echoing behind them. They took turns around corners not knowing where to go. They soon found themselves in front of the pool.

Griffin came barreling around the corner just as Jared pushed her into the pool. He stood and began to face Griffin. "WHERE IS SHE?" He screamed. Jared didn't say anything. "Griffin please… think about this! Put the gun down and we'll talk about this! This is wrong! I'm the one who's supposed to have the gun, you're supposed to be talking me down! Now come on! Do it for Faith!"

Meanwhile, Faith had silently swam to the other side of the pool and was climbing up the ladder. She raced up the stairs onto the next floor and looked over the railing. She searched desperately for something. There was nothing up here, all she could do was watch. She turned as Griffin began to shake the gun at Jared. "I DON"T DO WELL WITH COMPETITION! ESPECIALLY FROM BASTARDS LIKE YOU! WHERE IS SHE?" He bellowed. Faith couldn't figure out why there was no one running around, why the police weren't here. But she knew, she'd have to do this herself. She ran back down and looked in the pool shed. There was seemingly nothing she could use in here.

"That! The hook!" The voice cried. Faith grabbed the long metal pole with the large hook at the end. She turned and ran back to the wall. Griffin was pulling back on the trigger. She couldn't breathe.

"NO!"

She was screaming and running towards Griffin, the hook in front of her. Startled Griffin turned the gun on her. Jared cried out. The trigger was pulled.

BANG

Faith squeezed her eyes shut, the hook out of her hands. She waited, but no pain came, no hot blood pouring down her chest. She opened her eyes hesitantly. The hook had gone through Griffin and he stood stuttering, a trickle of blood running down his upper lip. But the large stain of burgundy that ran around the hook caused Faith to gag slightly. Griffin collapsed, his eyes, so hurt, suddenly going blank.

The shot! Where was Jared?! Gasping mad Faith freeze. She slowly, not wanting to, looked down. Jared lay in a heap in front of her. A small circle of blood growing slowly in his chest. She dropped to her knees and began to cry hysterically.

"No, please god, no, no, no!" She cried, clutching Jared's head. His eyes looked into hers. "Don't worry." He whispered, his voice struggling and faint.

"No matter what, I'll always be with you. Bec-cause of you, I'm complete."

He coughed violently then lay back down wincing. His hand reached up and she pressed it against her cheek.

"You make me complete. I had no reason for life until you came along. Faith, I have always loved you. And I always will. So don't worry. I'll never leave you, my faith, my Faith."

He smiled weakly. Her tears streamed down her face. "I love you." She whispered.

"I love you."

With one last breath, Jared's hand fell limp in hers. The warmth was draining from it. "No…" Faith whispered and held onto it more tightly. "NO!" She screamed, throwing her head back and yelling into the sky. The water from the pool glinted emptily off Jared's pale face, his lifeless eyes staring up at her.

Faith dropped onto his chest and bawled. The pool of blood grew around him, spreading and running through the cracks in the cement.

"I love you."

Sirens wailed and soon hands were grabbing at her, voices shouting. She clutched him in a death grip. She couldn't let go. If she did it would be true. When she let go, he'd be dead. He was still alive in her.

"I love you. Always."

Their hands parted.
