The Dauntless

Prologue--

Hannah speaks,

Each of us had found reason to be weary of the world. In truth, none of us were so concerned when a storm greeted us on the high sea and a fierce lightning set our ship afire. I heard The Siren’s groaning against the harpies’ wind, amidst its passengers’ frightened cries. While we fretted and clambered about on the uneven deck, and while all of us displayed a blatant fear, not one uttered a prayer–no one except Catherine Stuart, my sister, who appointed God her only hope when the rest of us had chosen to ignore him in such peril. Our ship, once proud vessel, disappeared beneath the waves and darkness. I thought I would never see light of sun again. And then I did.
