You are insatiable
Never fulfilled, you pursue
The things you want the most
Even those beyond your reach

Somehow, I tried
I brought out my heart for you
It made you happy, I believe
At least for that moment in time

When you were in the wrong
I took the blame
Apologizing
I asked for your forgiveness

At least for me, I felt
That maybe I’d touch you
Affect you in a certain way
Make you feel like treating me better

NO! You were never touched
Instead you lashed out at me
Throwing words that slash like blades
Hurting me

I could’ve chosen to blame you, let me repeat
But I took the blame for you
Never were you touched
You blamed it all on me

Now that you’re far and gone
Maybe now you’ll know
You’ll never find another fool
Who will treat you like I do

Maybe one day you’ll be satisfied
I guess I know which
The day that you’ll be wholly fulfilled and contented
Is the day that you’re dead and gone
