I stared again today

At the smooth texture of my skin

Hidden under three bangles

So out in the open,

So vulnerable.

Waiting for a shine

And a pinch;

Layers itching to be peeled away.

The vein, pulsating with fresh blood-

The living liquid,

The sustainer of life.

I followed this vein trail up my arm

Leading to caverns known only to the smallest of microscopes.

Phalanges, bone, marrow, muscle-

All craving to be torn apart,

Ripped to shreds,

Then dripped down the drain

Like all the other wastes of the world.

Because what more are we

Than living wastes,

Organic compost?

It’s inevitable

So let us begin.

Alas fear, alas indifference.

No point to be neither here nor there.

I don’t belong with anyone or anything

Because sometimes I’m just too different,

In an oddly trendy fashion,

When I stare.
