Disclaimer: I do not own Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken."

WUTN is kind of about what might've happened if he'd taken the other road.

Wish Upon the Nothingness

By NewSalemWitch

/--

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

One to the city, one to the green, and I

I took the road more traveled by,

And chose the companionship of strangers.

I was young and green myself,

Wick as a flower, I bloomed like one as well

But flowers live then fade and drop their petals.

They’ve no decisions to be made,

No knots to untie,

And no regrets to dwell upon.

Hark thee to my woes, young child,

If the green could be found,

I’d find it

If the choice were to be remade,

I’d make it

So have a care, youngling,

My tale is best remembered.

Mind thine paths,

Tread carefully.

For on this earth,

There is no greater pain existing

Than the unforgettable pain of regret.
