There are parts of you I find I can't replace-

But you could stare me in the face

And break my heart,

Rip it apart,

Tear each memory to a shred

Of pain, not caring what you said

To abandon and to break me,

As if you could make me

Let you go, and gladly,

Though sometimes I hurt so badly

From the things that I would never say to you

That I'm almost tempted to.

You said you'd never want to hurt me

But each time that you desert me

I feel that it's the last,

And you don't care how much of our past

Disappears inside the shadow you made hollow

Where no love could ever follow,

The best soon is forgotten

While the sweetest soon turn rotten

In the glare of a light that's far too cruel-

And I don't know if I'm a fool

But what else can I say?

Your brutality steals my light away

So black is the only thing I hope to see-

It can't be accidental that you do these things to me.

Yet to honor all that came before

I would ask for some time more

But the shamelessness with which you wound me

Leaves me speechless.
