Go ahead and take a picture

Because I won’t last very long like this.

None of us will.

My smile will dull and the teeth will break.

My skin will wrinkle and become grey.

My body will tire and erode.

A light breeze will be enough to take me down.

So snap a photograph of this moment

When I’m so happy and young,

When the sun shines on me and I glow

A bright golden hue of sunshine.

This is how I’ll live forever.

So long as the Polaroid never fades.
