Perfect Day

Verse One:

Welcome to today,
Where nothing’s new,

And you being to say,

Things that aren’t true.

Welcome to your current state,

Of your robotic life.

Forget this date,

It holds no pain or strife.

Hook: And you thought things were going great.

Chorus:

There’s no such thing as the perfect day.

Something always has to get in the way.

You never can quite make it right.

And something goes wrong,

By the time it’s night.

Verse Two:

The saddest part has got to be,

That’s you’ve gotten used to this.

And now you’re crying terribly,

Was there something you missed?

So welcome to this moment,

Where nothing seems to change.

And here’s a little hint,

This whole damn world’s deranged.

Hook: Were you hoping for an answer?

Chorus:

There’s no such thing as the perfect day.

Something always has to get in the way.

You never can quite make it right.

And something goes wrong,

By the time it’s night.

Bridge:

It’s an unwritten law,

It’s more than just destined to be.
No matter how hard you try,

The right word is,

Inevitability.

Hook: And you thought things were going great.

Chorus:

There’s no such thing as the perfect day.

Something always has to get in the way.

You never can quite make it right.

And something goes wrong,

By the time it’s night.

And you could hope and pray,

But it just doesn’t work.

You’re never gonna get a perfect day.

So strap yourself in,

Don’t get too cozy.

Something’s gonna go wrong by the time it’s night.

Ending:

Welcome to today,

Nothing seems to be new…

Except for you.
