This is probably my most cherished poem...it has always meant a lot to me, and always will...so please be gentle...

Am I breathing?
I don't know,
I don't care.
Why should I care?
Is my one breath going to save the world?
I'm just a pollutant,
Poisoning the air.
You don't need me.
I'm useless.
I'm a failure.
I'm stupid.
I'm useless.
There's nothing I can do but sit and wait for something;
Something that may never come.
I live my whole life in anticipation and fear,
Of that something that may never come.
Should I just give up, give in, or let myself live in spite,
Of that something that may never come?
Look at me,
Watch me be
All I can be.
Tell me how good I am.
Tell me I'm still breathing,
Laughing,
In the face,
Of that something that may never come
