Sleep, child, sleep

It will all be over soon

As sorrow washes over

Like a great monsoon

Sleep, child, sleep

Though, your mother's not right

Tears run down her face

As she cuts he wrist tonight

Sleep, child, sleep

No, it's not your fault

She was just too young

When her world care to a halt

Sleep, child, sleep

And don't wake up

She wouldn't want you to find

Her body in this slump

Sleep, child, sleep

So innocent and pure

Too young to understand

Your mother's pain and her cure

And when the morning comes

The cuts will bee too deep

But for now,

Sleep, child, sleep
