Musky clouds conform to my perception

Making you a silhouette among the stars

That still burn for me

Though their light is out of reach

Its glow is more beautiful

So much more real

Than what is close enough to touch

What will soon emerge from the fog

And drag me to a place

Where stars cease to shine

And nothing is clearer than the sketchy outlines

Of your reality

And this, they call love

For love, I should absorb your painful shadows

Become one myself

A necessary, avoided evil

That even stars hide in clouds

To make sure I never see them
