with undivided clarity

you said the words you wrote to me

their beauty could not be compared

for at that moment, we were free

we rushed into our love, headstrong

but what was really going on

was nothing but a heated lust

which never really lasts as long

as we both hoped that it would last

for certain things within our past

were past things that we failed to see

because the words you wrote to me

had blinded us for we could not

foresee the one thing we forgot:

that we were young and quite naive;

perhaps deserved just what we got

Chorus:

Love disguises lust

and we were more than tainted

but who's the better person?

the one who did or didn't fake it?

And so we came to be,

with animosity,

burnt by our own fire we created

both our souls engulfed by our impatience

your kiss of judas filth did burn

and that was when our luck did turn

i wish i was more cognitive

but sometimes we just never learn

for i thought i was doing right

when i'd lay in your bed at night

and feel you come inside of me

but things aren't always meant to be

when boredom came you had to go

the routine that you came to know

got old for you; you had to see

the next act of your whoring show

for that's what i became for you

a whore who'd steal some love from you

the words that you had meant the most

were only words you thought were true

chorus:

Love disguises lust,

and we were more than tainted

but who's the better person?

the one who did or didn't fake it?

the words I heard you say,

will haunt me to this day

cause what you promised me,

I never got it.

it was the only thing from you I ever wanted.
