This was a poem written for my sophomore poetry notebook . . . so I haven't actually looked at it in a long time. Pretty happy and naturistic . . . with an unhappy note at the end. Kinda reminds me of the human life . . . right, not going to analyze my own poem. So, please, read, review, and recommend!

Unfurling into the sunlight
My green skin shiny and dark
I’m full of breath as well as life
With dripping dew to fill me up
The people who see me smile

But the clock never stops ticking
And I’ve been dipped in bright paint
So now I’m a sharp spotlight
Cracking and humming merrily
The people below me smile on

Soon winds sweep me up into a veil
Now I’m bending and keeling inward
Withering in my corroded shell
And finally dying into the breeze
The smiling people are gone
