Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.

The Love Chapter (1 Corinthians 13: 4-7)

Love

You may seek every day

All the days of your life

But you will not find perfect

Not a husband or a wife

Who loves like God does

Without failure or pride

When God loves, it’s true

That cannot be denied

With every little thing

Every detail, every aspect

God loves us with everything

More than we should expect

From a mere imperfect human

Who is not ideal in his love

But God who loves us all

As gentle as a dove

He listens when we talk

Every word and every sound

He’s not selfish, not like us

The One who made us heaven-bound

The author of selfless love

Affection, noble and true

God loves everyone

The real love, through and through
