Katrina, why does your wrath haunt us?

A mere mistake, the walls fell down,

You didn't even have to use trumpets.

Maybe, someday far from now,

This will have accomplished some good,

But as for right now, I can't understand

Why we are being kept under the hood.

Thousands are homeless,

Hundreds have died,

I don't know what to make of this mess,

Except for what little I can spy.

I am safe, stuck here typing,

I've made donations, there's not much else I can do,

So I hope, and pray,

That we can fix our New Orleans back to new.

Ack! Sorry It's been longer than usual, but school is EVIL. Eh. It's mostly homework. Then Katrina happened, and for days I was dumbstruck. So I wrote this in less than five minutes as my tribute, since I don't have much time anymore. Remember your R's and R's! (or your P's and Q's)
