Don't weep, little girl
The war is over
All that's left
Is violence and destruction

It's okay, my boy
The fighting's stopped
And daddy can come home
Gibbering in a wheelchair

Have courage, my friend
The right side has won
And the blood on the concrete
Is the price of peace

Watch the children and the cripples
Piecing together dog-ends
To sell as cigarettes
So they can buy
Stale bread

Victory sickens me
