to prevent myself from falling into love’s painful trap

making me helpless with no supporting pillar of strength

i would have chosen not to like you

then i would need to suffer no more

if i could only take back my fallen tears

i would have chosen to walk away

while you watch my retreating shadow slowly disappear

how i wish this was just a dream

where i would wake up and forget all the troubles it brought with it

all the tears of sorrow would be gone

all the emotional pain would go away

and i would go back to my soulless body
