People You Love Can Hurt You More

You cut me with a forked tongue
Your words twist around me
Like I’m in the eye of a hurricane
You have me spinning with these lies
Why can’t you speak with the truth?
Don’t you realize how I’m hurting?

You don’t keep your cruelty in check
I guess I can’t expect any less
You get under my skin
I know you want to choke the life out of me
Spare me from your hatred
I can’t forgive you for everything you’ve done
Why can’t we get along?

You chose your different path
I stumbled past the bramble on the ground
I made my own path
You took the clean-cut dark path
Now you’re never coming back
How could you be like this?

I want the old you back
I think I stayed the same
Can’t you just be reborn?
Why did you leave the leader?
Now you’re this thing made of darkness

You’re choking me with your anger
I’m losing my breath
You draw my blood
Why can’t I escape from you?
Why is it the people you love most know
How to hurt you the most?

A/N: After trying the experiment I wanted to go back to how I usually write.
