Didn’t Make It

We lost each other

In this game called life

We struggled and toiled

But in the end we never

Made it

I lost myself in madness

You lost yourself in pain

While Hell’s fire and

Heaven’s light guided us

We just never made it

I don’t know if we could’ve

Or would’ve

I just know we didn’t

Now we both changed

Both with different

Lives in different worlds

I withered away

While you grew strong

So I died with your memory

And you grew without mine

A/N: By far my favorite poem in my massive pile of old poems. I’m horribly emotionally attached to this poem for reasons I don’t choose to remember. I really want to know what other people think about it.
