That Face In The Picture

That face in the picture

That I loathe yet long to reach

Inside of me

That face in the picture

Is me or so I think

That face in the picture

Was a part of me that’s lost in the darkness

Pleading, screaming for help

But nobody’s there

Nobody cares

So what’s life to me

And who are you?

Darkness and pain

They say I’m crazy

Well I just laugh and say is that so?

But deep down

It hurts and no one knows

So no one cares

That picture of that old part of me haunts

Haunts in my restless nights

Haunts my stupid soul

Now I’m pleading, screaming for help

‘Cuz I’m just a lost figure in the shadows

That face in the picture

That little girl who is so happy

Why did she turn into me?

A monster, a devil, just darkness

No compassion, no tears, just darkness

So what happened?

I don’t know

Maybe you do?

That face in the picture

Was me

A/N: Another poem from my old pile.
