A/N: My reaction to Hurricane Katrina. There is no way to keep this inside me so I have written some thoughts in this poem. It has no title.

All those people dying
No family in sight
Where do they go
How can they survive the night

The government is slacking
Who picks up the extra weight
So many lives just waiting
To be able to escape

Who will help them out
Of this new ghost town
Where waters are receding
And horrible memories abound

Their children are missing
Mothers and fathers drowned
People need dialysis
But there is no water to be found

Look to the people
Who live near and far
They are the ones who give the aid
That the president knows nothing about

Love to the families
Homes to stay in for the time
Water, food and clothing
We are helping in the fight

This should not happen
Every person should be safe
These are our families
Their lives should not be left to fate

So help and lend a hand
It is needed now most of all
These people have a future
And we can help them grow

Now is the time to come together
As a nation strong and true
We are all a family
It is up to me and you
