I never got to say "I love you",

after that fateful day.

What I would give to have those moments back,

you'll never know.

I never got to tell you goodbye,

before you slipped away.

Hopefully you know all the words in my heart,

though you're so far gone.

I wish I could see your smiling face,

animated with the joys of life.

Staring back at me as we laugh,

sharing moments that will always be with me.

I wish you had awoken one last time,
