I Love You, Matt

Your words drift through the silent air,
Planting something new,
Starting something fresh,
Newness, freshness, springtime lambs.
Hopes hover high and
Emotions higher still,
A thunder cloud ready to burst
Over the hilltop where we stand
Locked in each other’s embrace.
The rain drops fall,
But from the skies they do not,
Rather from my eyes,
Invisible, but there in spirit. My own spirit
Swoops and dives with the swallows and
The swifts in a manner that I could
Never control, and the Lord be
Praised for this great moment.
The Lord be praised indeed.
