i am an unabashed romantic.
i sit here, slowly peeling a tangerine, wishing i had a cedar dress.
in my mind, i strum a lute and pine -
needled -
for my far-away love,
mon amour,
et je chante une chanson
i sing a sweet song of passionate unbridled...
you on a dark horse
unsaddled with regret
brow swarthy, swathed in sweat

i remain re-maned, Rapunzled and fairy-told
ensconced in a spire,
spiral horn
believes in me
i ride off, godiva-like
on a chocolate unicorn

N.B.

“La tienne”

means

“yours” or “thine”

“mon amour,

et je chante une chanson”

means

“my love,

and I sing a song”

Much thanks to whateveryouwant for the suggestion.
