Dita's Sonnet XVII

O my Belovedest, how I ache for thee!

Your smile, your eyes, your voice so clear

Not Being with you is my worst-ever fear

O Beautiful Soul, what you have Done to me!

Worse still is how even when you're a lifetime away

A single air particle can unfold your Memory

Do away with my defences by count of three

But still I await You, Come what may

I am she for whom every moment lasts one year

I am she who is a star hopelessly in debt

I am she who knows that even though it all went wrong

and it will all be forgiven with a single tear,

the resonant fossil on my hand, lest I forget

your mark on my soul, O Greatest Love, Resonant Song!
