Lost Yesterday
It is strange how
Things that are so recognizable
Are so easily forgotten
How the words that once inspired a nation
Are lost, reduced to merely
A wisp of memory
From an aging temple
How the great men of today
Are lost among the great men of tomorrow
But, I suppose
That is the way of such things
We only see what is shoved
Into our faces
While we look for tomorrow
And never look back
To yesterday
