Do not venture into the waters today
For they are deeply troubled
And though the surface is as glass
The anguish below more than doubles.

Do not drink of the water today
It will not quench your thirst
Rather it will choke and drown you
And you will join its worst

Above, the storm clouds rumble
And around the cold wind blows
Don't be fooled by the water's flat surface:
A dark monster struggles below

But dare you wade the water,
Befriend the monster mine
For longeth we to leave our cell
And to leave the depths behind

Oh, do not test the water
Unless with your whole self
To tame the monster is trying task
With halfheartedness leading to death.
