Dionysus is the god of wine and vegetation,

His mother was struck dead by lightnin'.

It was an accident caused by the jealous Hera.

As his mortal wife lay with an empty stare,

Zeus rescued his unborn son and sewed him up on his own thigh.

To save his son's life he told Hera a lie.

From there Dionysus was brought up by nymphs,

When Hera found out she drove him mad.

I say, this is very sad.

He then controlled his own pack of wild satyrs and maenads.

Hey what are maenads?

Well, anyway, everywhere he went to teach about how to make wine.

He raised a rumpus.

Thus,

Even though there were many of Hera's disagreements,

Zues thoughts were as solid as cement.

Dionysus became a god,

Hestia helped by giving up her throne.

Many men still worship this god,

Even though their wives give them a very bad scorn.
