“A piece of meat.”
“Just someone to date.”
“A piece of tail.”
But I made you wait.

I’m sorry I couldn’t put out;
I should have known better.
What you got after three weeks
Was only under the sweater.

I should have listened
To what my friends said.
They tried to warn me
But I couldn’t let it in my head.

So now I say: congratulations;
You found a girl who would.
So now I’ll try to laugh at this
But it won’t do any good.

Because everything I did
I did it all for you.
I couldn’t see the ass behind
The guy I thought I knew

So whether or not you’re with her
I just wanted you to know:
Everything I felt was real
Even if I couldn’t let it show.

The next ‘piece of meat’
Whomever that may be,
I hope she’ll realize
The man you’ll never be.
