Hourglass

Staring into the dark and into the blue

Over the dawning horizon there is new birth

Flipping the hourglass, starting anew

Looking into it through and through

The end of a tale, leaving the earth

One last breath, a deep sigh blew

Laughter in the air, a new mirth

Flipping the hourglass, starting anew

The wind carries the soul, pure and true

Onto a new path filled with worth

Staring into the dark and into the blue

Wings of the gifted sprang out and grew

A new meaning and purpose, a journey not anywhere on earth

Flipping the hourglass, starting anew

Confident and surely, the gifted jumped up and flew

A new life begins and is in a time of rebirth

A/N: Yeah, usually I do stories and put what little poetry I do in there but, this was for English and I thought 'For my first attempt at real poetry, I am amazed'. I was inspired by Nanashi from my Scarecrow Kakashi trilogy (Only I know what is to happen soon!) And I hope it comforts people for what it is to come. Many people told me that death is unpleasent but in the words of the great Albus Dumbledore "To the well organized mind death is but the next great adventure." He truly was...an inspiration (sniffle).
