You and I and loneliness
Thriving in our second chance,
Having both one and then the other
Another gift from Circumstance;

And I find silence is my anthem,
Isolated, but not free,
You’d let me fall forever
Cloaked in the certainty

Of mourning but not missing,Playing our scripted game
Ending with the prayer
That tomorrow not be the same-

You push me to become your dream,
You, less than was expected,
Discovered in a twelve minute phone call
And then I’m disconnected;

You ask me what is wrong,
I need you to come and get me;
I hear excuses and indifference-
And I cannot believe you left me.
