A Prayer

Oh Lord,
I thank you for the girl I hold,
I thank you that she loves me.
I thank you that she worships you
And places you above me.
I thank you that I hold her hand,
I thank you for our kiss.
I thank you that you keep us strong
When her smile I miss.
I thank you for her champagne eyes,
I thank you for her loving sighs.
I thank you for her shapely nose,
I thank you for her painted toes.
And now I pray that she’s The One,
The woman I’ll spend my life with;
The woman with whom I’ll wake each morn,
The woman I’ll share my soul with.
Lord, you are a wonderful God,
I thank you once again.
You’ve done such great things in my life.
I love you, Lord.
