Over the next couple of days practice progressed nicely. With Danny’s help Stephanie was improving in her skills. In fact he was surprised at how fast she was learning things. Her powers were really making headway and getting stronger. On the fourth day of practice Adam and Whitney left to work as usual while Danny waited for Stephanie to arrive.

“She’s late” he thought.

Suddenly he saw her running up with a thermos in her hand.

“Where have you been?” he asked with a slight frown.

“I’m sorry” she replied, “I had to get something. Here” she handed him the thermos.

“What’s this?” he said bewildered as he took it.

“Just something to say thank you” she grinned shyly.

“For me?”

“Mhm” she nodded, “I hope you like it.”

He opened the thermos and took a sip from it. After he closed the lid and tasted the substance on his lips.

“It’s good, but what is it?” he asked turning to her.

“Sun tea.”

“Huh?”

“Sun tea,” she repeated, “I made it a couple of days ago.”

“How?”

“I found some tea leaves in the kitchen. I put them in some water and let it sit out in the sun in a pitcher. It only took a day or two.”

“And you made this just for me?” he asked still stunned.

“Mhm” she nodded, “To say thank you for being so nice to me during practice. I really appreciate it.”

He blushed a little as he put the thermos down.

“Um weren’t nothing” he replied shrugging it off, “Let’s get to practice all right?”

“Okay” she agreed.

As he walked over to his side he scratched his head again in confusion.

“How can one sister be one way and the other be so completely different?” he thought.

(Next Scene)

That evening after dinner Stephanie wandered out into the fields alone. Practice that day had been pretty hard. She had managed to dodge all the attacks but hadn’t been able to use her powers very well for some reason. Danny was not mad however, and continued to encourage her but she still felt discouraged. She walked to the spot that Adam had shown her before Danny had become her trainer. She walked over to the lake and stared down at the water. She crouched down a little and gazed at her reflection. She sighed heavily and then sat completely down. Slowly she made some small water bubbles. A soft breeze blew around her hair and the bubbles making them float away. As she watched them drift she noticed that the branches of the trees were not blowing because of the wind.

“Odd?” she thought.

She looked back into the water and felt another breeze, a little harder this time blow around her hair.

“Adam?” she looked back.

But he wasn’t there. She furrowed her eyebrows a bit as she once again turned back to the water. This time the breeze picked up and rippled the water making it bubble. She stood up and looked around her once more, the hair on her neck standing one end.

“Okay, what’s going on here?” she said in a scared voice.

The bubbles in the water began to move upwards. Several of them came out of the lake and surrounded the frightened girl. Suddenly a snap of fingers was heard and the bubbles popped all around her. But not a drop of water was spilled. When she opened her eyes she saw a strange young man standing before her. He was dressed all in black and his navy blue hair was tied back.

She stared at him as he smiled at her. He placed his hand in the air and the wind emerged from his fingertips. It blew across her hair, making her flinch and close her eyes. He chuckled slightly at her reaction, which made her look back up.

“Who are you?” she asked in a quavering voice, “What do you want?”

“Don’t be frightened my dear” he replied stopping the wind with a sweep of his hand, “I won’t hurt you.”

“I hardly doubt that” she replied trying to sound brave.

He smiled again as he began to walk forward his cape swishing behind him. She couldn’t move however and stood still completely petrified.

(Next Scene)

Adam meanwhile was searching for her. He gazed around the fields his frown becoming more distinct. He had been looking for her all over the tree house. Meanwhile up in the tree house Serenity appeared.

“Adam!” she called, “Raven has sent out a warning! He is nearby!”

“You don’t mean Him?” Adam said angrily clenching his fist.

He sniffed the air and suddenly realized where he could find Stephanie. Just as he dashed off Danny and Whitney saw him and both decided to follow him. Separately of course. At the same time, Julious the leader of the Dark Tribe was getting closer and closer to the timid girl.

“Adam. Whitney” she thought scared, “Help me please!”
